Week 3: Ideal Protein

After a nice three day trip and a couple of days at home, weigh-in numero three showed up. Another abbreviated week due to my flight schedule, but another successful weeks worth of no cheats! I was thrilled when the tape measure was cinched a little tighter, and my feet felt like they were air! I know the smiley is cheesy, but I cannot contain my excitement. Today’s outfit was purchased in February 2011, when I ran the Gasparilla 5K in Tampa, followed by The Disney Princess Half Marathon in Orlando the next day! I’ve always had a soft spot for pirates, so even after the weigh drops, I will try taking in these Nike pieces, as they are some of my favorite running items!

I picked my -5 Lb reward! For several years now, I have been in the market for a whiskey flask. After crawling around Etsy, I came by this great shop, Hair of the Dog, and they’re sending me this little gem (with a little personalization, of course)! Being quite the fan of whiskey, I look forward to being able to eventually putting this little lady to work. In the mean time, she’ll look lovely in an ornamental capacity.

Tomorrow, I have six consecutive days of on call flying. I have my Laduree cooler bag, the daily portions divvied into day-by-day 1-gallon zipper bags, and I am researching the list of available trips. I’m finding apps like GateGuru, Yelp, and Foursquare increasingly useful in researching restaurants in airports and surrounding my layover hotels. To ensure I’m getting my daily doses of veggies, I am developing a soft spot for vegetarian and organic restaurants. They seem to be more willing to work with the dietary restrictions of IP (without charging extra money for substituting menu items to make the meals healthier).
